Consulting Assistant to the Director 

SUMMARY 

This contracted position assists the Director of SkillsUSA Indiana. This position reports directly to the SkillsUSA Indiana Director and SkillsUSA Indiana Board of Directors.  This position is for work performed from January 1, 2020 thru June 30, 2020. The position may be expanded to a full year position with annual renewals. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Practical Management Experience and familiarization with the SkillsUSA Indiana organization.  

Key skills: This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to work with program leaders and volunteers at all levels; to conduct research or gather resources for project implementation; to effectively coordinate SkillsUSA participation in events including, partner events, alumni events or conferences and trade shows.  Individual must be organized, detail-oriented and energetic and possess the ability to multi-task and work well with others. Non-profit association experience desired, especially as a SkillsUSA/CTSO member or supporter. Also required: good computer skills, effective writing and reporting skills, positive attitude and willingness to work independently and as part of a larger team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB— 

Fund Raising/ Community Outreach

  • Promote SkillsUSA to corporate and business partners with the intent of securing donations and partnership agreements with SkillsUSA Indiana. 

  • Research and apply for Grants and other funding opportunities for SkillsUSA Indiana.

  • Secure funding to cover the expense of the Assistant Director position.

  • Visit corporate and school locations to promote SkillsUSA Indiana.

Conference

 

  • Assist the director in organizing a Fall Leadership Conference for the membership.

  • Assist the director in organizing a SLSC each year

  • Assist the director in Researching and purchasing various items needed for all state conferences.

  • Assist the director in Contacting scholarship donors and secure sponsorships for state conferences

  • Assist the director in organizing preparations for national conference.

These responsibilities / duties may and will change as time and circumstances present themselves.
